Kintsugi Inspired Pendants - Kintsugi Bar Necklace - Colorized Clay

  • $33.00

Kintsugi is the ancient art of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver. The cracks are viewed as part of the history of the object and not something to hide. The pottery is valued more repaired than in its original state.

I love the symbolism of the art, which inspired this new collection. The pendant is handcrafted using a hand dyed clay inlaid in a rectangle setting. Please note with my hand dyed clay pendants, the clay is colorized by hand as well, so there can be differences in color based on the batch. :) I hand create "cracks" using liquid gold leaf and seal with a layer of resin. I aim to make each pendant unique, making the necklace one of a kind. Please see all listing pictures for samplings of variety of designs. All the necklace components are 24K gold plated. All components are lead and nickel free. The pendant measures 1 1/8" in length and 1/4" in width. The pendant is attached to an 18" antique gold chain with sturdy lobster clasp. Customers have the choice between: lavender, pink, turquoise, denim, coral, and green.

The necklace arrives displayed on a display card describing the art of Kintsugi with a word of encouragement. Arrives beautifully packaged ready for gift giving, even if it is a gift for yourself! Necklace is not intended to be immersed in water. Please review jewelry care instructions outlined in my policies. The following is a video on care tips: https://youtu.be/rkQLS3D_nUE
